Just found out that you can use blaupunkt travel pilot usb to connect to a 2005 "cheap-on-ebay" laptop which has a free internal hard-drive and a dx map cd-rom.
My brothers friend has a blaupunkt travel pilot DX car navigator and it is horrible. He keeps getting lost! The map is from the second half of 2004. Â
